Helen: A Literary Magazine proclaims 2016 as the year of no themes. We’ve enjoyed creating the issues we have, but we found a desire to open up Pandora’s Box and allow people more room to bring us their best work. We’re hoping that themes will weave within the works we accept and play off each other in unexpected ways. Join us by submitting your best today.

We’re open for submissions until June 1, 2016.

All submissions will be considered for both our upcoming Spring Issue, our first web-only edition as well as our print Fall Issue. Submissions are always considered for our ongoing blog series Friday Night Specials, but we have created a special category for these that are year-round.

We’re looking for short fiction that opens us up in unexpected ways, poems that enrich us, artwork and photography that challenge and dazzle us, and essays that pour us into your world.
