We welcome you to our second web issue for Helen: a literary magazine.
Our issue this time is probably our most proudly feminist issue as we deal with many women’s issues in our selections. Ranging from love and relationships, finding balance, and aging we go through a spectrum of life’s challenges with humor and heartache.
We are also pleased to feature works from Shaun Turner, Joe Baumann, and Donald Illich. Each offer pieces that open us up and delight us in unexpected ways.
Our unofficial theme became Finding Center inspired by poem by Nancy Christopherson. It easily inspired the artwork chosen for our web cover. Please also check out the video we made to honor her poem.
The artwork chosen for our issue all share a sense of raw emotion and place and we’re proud to say that all four artists are from Las Vegas. We felt that in viewing this places you will also get a sense of what it is like to live in Las Vegas as if you actually lived here.
