FNS: but most of all it’s the morning from Garrett Bryant

Every Friday night we will feature a short story, essay, personal narrative,
poem, spoken word, or short film for your enjoyment.

Helen Presents: a poem from Garrett Bryant

i love as sunrise rusts and

birdsong peeks through curtain
cracks to the epilogue of night

where the improvised jazz of bodies
leaves sheets stirred and wanting

where loose hair falls piano like
keys playing down shoulders

and your skin reflecting it all
in the warm morning music

Garrett Bryant lives in San Diego, California, where he teaches English and Writing at San Diego State University. Garrett is an avid writer of poetry and micro fiction as well as a contributing editor of Poetry International and Locked Horn Press.
